Holiday Beers 2022

Posted On: December 06, 2022

Say cheers to the holidays with these festive seasonal brews from the craft brewers in the Quad Cities!  Whether you’re buying them as a gift or just picking up a growler, crowler, or cans to take home, the breweries in the QC are ready to help you be the hit of the holidays.

Bent River Brewing’s Jingle Java is a long-time favorite that fans look forward to getting their hands on as soon as it’s tapped.  This coffee stout is enhanced with a warm winter mix of vanilla, pecan, cinnamon, caramel, and rum.

Front Street Brewery’s Snickerdoodle Cream Ale is a more-recent favorite.  Just like its name implies, you’ll taste creamy cinnamon and other comforting spicy notes.  Stop in at the taproom in the Freight House or the pub & eatery. You can get a growler too.

The name might be intimidating but the popular Krampusblüd Nordic Stout at Wake Brewing in Rock Island returns for another year.  This stout is fermented with Nordic yeast; then aged with vanilla beans and Dark Matter coffee. Stop in for a pint or get your 4-packs to go.

For their holly, jolly Fat Quaker Oatmeal Stout, Contrary Bewing took their original English style oatmeal stout and made it, well, more stout. Two different oats and a richer texture.

The Midwest Ale Works’ Naughty or Spice Winter Warmer is a malty and toasty amber ale that meets over 30 pounds of mango puree and at least 6 jalapenos. The result is a complex and flavorful brew that will have you questioning which route you want to take to get on Santa's good side.

Perfect for the holiday season, Crow Creek Cranberry Saison from Crawford Brew Works has real cranberry concentrate. The fruit character comes through first and the farmhouse yeast notes in the finish leaves you begging for more.

Blue Cat's Winter Warmer is a spiced strong American Porter brewed with Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, Ginger, and Tumeric.

For something light after a day of shopping, try the Strawberries & Cream.  This blonde ale is brewed with strawberry oolong tea at Radicle Effect.

Try the 3T Imperial Rye Stout at Geneseo Brewing Co.

For a little holiday pick me up, Five Cities Brewing has released Dirty Hoes, a coffee chai oatmeal stout.

If you’re dreamin’ of somewhere warm for the holidays, try Green Tree Brewery’s new beer, Sandy Cheeks. Take a sip of this light refreshing wheat beer infused with Mango and Pineapple.

For the Harry Potter fans, Diagon Alley Dark Mild from Great Revivalist Brew Lab is a malt focused, English Style Dark Mild with a nutty, chocolate, and light roast refreshing flavor. Diagon Alley has a medium body and dry finish.

Just in time for the holidays, Cranberry Kate is here to join her Uncle Juicy at Twin Span Brewing.

When it’s vacation, a second breakfast is just fine. Try Nerdspeak’s BA Second Breakfast, an Imperial oatmeal stout aged in Blaum Brothers bourbon barrels. Notes of chocolate, caramel, vanilla and coffee. Rich, sweet and boozy, perfect for second breakfast!
