Quad Citizen to Know: Debbie Davis aka QC Ale Girl
In the Quad Cities craft beer scene, few names resonate as strongly as Debbie Davis. Recently awarded the 2024 Quad-City Times Bartender of the Year, Davis is not only an accomplished brewery operations manager but a passionate ambassador for QC craft brewing. Her extensive experience across multiple breweries, including Bent River, Radical Effects, Crawford, and now Wake Brewing, has made her a fixture in the community.

For over 17 years, Davis has built her “QC Ale Girl” persona, a recognizable name among local beer enthusiasts. Originally a blog she started to promote craft beer, QC Ale Girl has become a trusted voice for beer recommendations and insider tips on the QC Ale Trail. “I started it as a resource for craft beer fans,” she explains. “Back then, there were only three or four breweries here, but I wanted to share the growing beer culture.”
Davis’s dedication to customer service and hospitality has earned her a loyal following. “I’m passionate about good service and the craft of beer,” she says. “People know they can come to me for great beer recommendations and be treated with kindness and respect.”
Having worked closely with Visit Quad Cities and contributing to the development of the QC Ale Trail, Davis is a strong advocate for the role of craft beer in local tourism. “Each brewery offers something different, and craft beer fans love to explore,” she notes. “The Ale Trail gives people a reason to visit and experience everything the Quad Cities has to offer.”
For newcomers, she recommends stops at Green Tree Brewery in Le Claire, Stompbox Brewery in Davenport, and Adventurous Brewing in Bettendorf. Each, she says, captures the unique spirit and quality that defines the QC beer community, a scene she’s proud to be part of and promote.
