QC Craft Beer Week Returns in 2021

QC Craft Beer Week - May 10-15

Posted On: April 23, 2021

The Quad Cities welcomes back QC Craft Beer Week on May 10-15, just in time for the second anniversary of the QC Ale Trail.  Throughout the past two years, hundreds of craft beer lovers from 17 different states have blazed the QC Ale Trail.  The QC Ale Trail invites beer lovers on a self-guided tour of the local craft breweries across the Quad Cities region.

The Quad Cities craft beer community continues to grow with three new breweries opening last year and Nerdspeak Brewery opening soon.

About QC Craft Beer Week

QC Beer Week began in 2011 by the local home brewing club, MUGZ. It was created to highlight the great places in the Quad Cities that celebrated craft beer, with different tapping events at both bars and breweries. As the local brewing landscape changed so has the event itself to focus on Quad Cities crafted brews.

About River Bend Food Bank

No one should go hungry. River Bend Food Bank works with 300+ partner agencies in 23 counties to make sure people facing hunger have reliable access to healthy food. Leading the community-wide effort to eliminate hunger in eastern Iowa and western Illinois, the Food Bank distributes over 20 million meals each year to hungry people through food pantries, schools, senior residences, and community organizations. River Bend Food Bank will feed people today and end hunger tomorrow.

Every $1 donated provides 5 meals

The pandemic and subsequent economic disruptions magnified food insecurity in River Bend Food Bank’s communities. It created a spike in food bank need. Locally, the River Bend Food Bank distributed 51% more food during 2020 compared to the year prior. With a projected recession, continued unemployment and subsequent spikes in coronavirus cases, this high demand will likely continue throughout 2021.
